Yes, batting the political shuttlecock back and forth can be a hoot, and I appreciate the chance to occasionally hone my essay-writing skills, too.
In the moderate liberalism I come from, Goverment Money is a taken as well as a "given" - taken from my paycheck by three tiers of government, and more is billed to my address of record (as opposed to where I live) by a quasi-governmental body called a school district. Naturally, my self-interest and my concern for the community in which I live suggests ways I want that money to come back from the various governments that took it - since I am realistic enough to know that no matter who claims to be in power, the money will continue to be taken.
It's my spending priorities that make me a liberal.
I'm not sure where you get this "at gunpoint" notion, unless maybe from Ruby Ridge (an interpretation more suited to T. McV. that to an intelligent technological businessman) - or maybe it's from that childhood indoctrination (I got it too, just didn't swallow it) that any thought left of center always leads to totalitarian central planning and Stalinist enforcement tactics, in the same manner that any contact with marijuana always leads to heroin addiction.
Anyway - since I was originally attempting only to comment on the choice of adjectives, I'll leave it at that, and remain proudly unrepentant.
See you on the Current 'Vents and Off-Topic boards, where this belonged. Whose serve is it?
