<That is Russ's old vehicle that is going to get restored "one of these days".
You're not fooling anybody. I saw "The Absent Minded Professor." I know exactly what you're going to do with that car. ;)
My motivations really aren't very business related, and I'm not looking for investors. I have picked goals that I believe we are capable of reaching with my personal funding, so investors would only get in the way.
Boy, did you say a mouthful. If I have anything to say about it, I'm never going to work with anything requiring investors again, despite the fact that the initial investors we have worked with in the past have generally been good ones. It's finding the new ones that makes your hair fall out. At Rotary Rocket we wasted immense amounts of money, time, and effort trying to land bank-types and other institutional investors using all the "right approaches" and "proper prospectuses (prospecti?)." As far as I know, we never raised one bloody additional nickel that way. Face it, only rich people who are far-seeing (or somewhat looney, depending on your point of view), will ever put money into this stuff.
...I firmly believe that if you do something sufficiently Neat, and you don't spend too much money doing it, that you will wind up making money. I concentrate on the Neat, and let the business take care of itself.
Judging from successful ventures I have seen in the past, in many fields besides rocketry, I think you've hit the nail on the head. Keep up the good work!
