It's been slow going and even as 'quiet' as the article above states, but still there are those that have profited... from universities and small businesses to even NASA itself.
My husband has been bringing home copies of lNASA's Tech Briefs and there are millions of companies listed that have 'profited' from space. Most of those whose products have been chosen by NASA, have come back for re-selection because of the competition... they are making smaller, cheaper and better products (pardon the space pun) for use in space and herre.
