FWIW, I understand your usage of the term. I think that it's legitimate to analyze whether and how any modern group has taken tactics from the National Socialist playbook. A professional politician would look at the Nazis and see that, leaving aside the toxic philosophy, they also won using those tactics, and the temptation will always be great to pick up the same weapons.
But, as a practical matter, if phrasing the comparison so starkly causes the subjects to shriek so loudly as to drown out what you're saying, you're defeating yourself by using it. There's a sweet spot below comparisons to Nazis where you get the maximum receptiveness.
I'd have been happy if you'd just moved the post to Flame. I wasn't asking you to censor yourself. But if you do regret your choice of words, what the hell, you can erase them and try again. Owning your own words includes the right to erase them.
