One - With early evidence on both sides, people made up their minds soon in the process based upon what they wanted to believe. That became the myth.

Two - People then decided upon the motives of the folks on the other side - greed for the conservatives, power-mad for the environmentalists.

Three - With the myth in place, and the motives for the opposite side settled, no further consideration is needed, sought, nor will be entertained.

Give it some thought. Works every time. First the sand and cement of the myth, followed closely by the water of the motive, and then the concrete of a closed mind.
