It would be easier with some subsidy by Uncle Sugar if there were no noxious strings attached.

Other cost offsets for a private mission are web and media rights and sales of merchandise. Probably only $1-2 billion, but a billion here and a billion there and...

One incentive is to be the historical figure for all time that was responsible for the 1st mission. Maybe even go yourself. What the hell use is billions of dollars anyway?
