Nice work, Robert

That should shut somebody up, but I wouldn't bet on it. Unfortunately, this "fifteen mile spaceship" is firmly splattered all over the Web, which tells you something very important about what can happen with rotton memes on such a medium.

It is frightening how little work it takes to check something like this out, yet very few people do. I've misplaced the links for this, but the last great example was the bit about the former IBM chairman who was writing a book on how their technology had been swiped from alien tech that wound up on Earth. The book was reviewed in a computer magazine, and this review was spread all over the Web.

It took me about an hour to find out that the former chairman did not exist, the book did not exist, and the magazine in which it was mentioned did not exist. So it goes.
