Well, I tried to get away from the fog about an hour before the peak. My three favorite spots, just outside town, were fogged in, so I ended up sitting in my back yard under horrible conditions- orange sulphur parking lot lights a block away with lots of haze...
But MAN, even under those crappy conditions, I counted 50 meteors in the 30 minutes around 2:30. I would guess that I could seeing down to third mag. The peak came at around 2:40, I counted one every 5 to 15 seconds, sometimes even in pairs. For about two or three minutes, I did everything I could to keep from blinking!
Turns out that even in my back yard, the storm was fabulous. I was truly happy with it.
In the end, I guess there's no place like home. (They should make amovie about that...)
