Educate yourself... Preferably not with Rush, or Drudge, but with refereed journals... And if you are one of those whacos that say you dont trust the scientists because they are lefties then you are just another mindless fool... Scientists have political beliefs, but they also have reputations to protect... I have not yet one that would want his name on a paper that had to offer a retraction... I knew one that had to publish a retraction... it was something he absolutely HATED and was sensitive about it for YEARS. Scientists, regardless of politics, mostly have ethics.... Doctors take an oath to "do no harm", well we dont all have to take an oath, but to be proven a charlatan is the worst sentence that can be imposed... In short scientists avoid lies like the plague... There may be some exceptions, but the majority will not sign their name to something they do not believe to be true.
I dont believe we need to go back to an agrarian culture or any of that nonsense, but we DO need to work on ways of mitigating the VERY REAL problem of global warming! As I said, in a different post, I do not think we the US are the worst offenders. I think SUV's for yuppies that dont need them is silly, but dont consider it a global scourge. What is a problem is relying on fossil fuels for energy... they are exhaustable and DO add greenhouse gasses...
I feel we should invest more in nuclear power... but unfortunately nuclear scares people... It is clean and the benifits outweigh the risks...YES a nuclear plant melt down could kill a lot of people... but how many would die if we relied on wood burning stoves to heat every house?
Space/Science » in reply to Sorry but if I had a few self-contained greenhouses I would study this in real-world detail...
It does add up..
