While I AM concerned about the ecology...

I find the idea of our coastal cities getting flooded during high tide a little unsettling... plus the inconvienience of wading to my local deli!

The fact is we humans are used to constants... we would adapt to a warmer world, sure, but at what cost? You cant deny it would cost, AT THE VERY LEAST, tens of millions of lives.. why not face the facts and see what we can do to prevent it?

I want to emphasize that I do NOT advocate reducing our standard of living, but I do advocate looking into how we can maintain that standard without creating a problem....Let me put it like this...It might be lovely living by the beach, but would you like it if the sea rose 10 feet?

My central point is global warming is real....We humans are damn good at improving our quality of life.... lets accept the problem and deal with it! If our planet warms 4-10 degrees will humanity survive? YES! Will we be able to have comfy lives like we do now? NO most of us wont...

Lets just deal with the problem and accept it.... otherwise we are just dumb animals at the whim of nature....
If we keep saying, in the face of all evidence, that global warming is just "leftist science" we waste that time in which we could do something!

I hope we can think our way out of this mess... BUT unless we take the threat seriously, we WILL have a serious reduction in the quality of life, All I argue is lets keep improving the quality of life, while thinking of our future....

We could avoid all this by killing nine tenths of the world and living like an agrarian society, but I wouldnt want to live like that! However if it comes to that I really hope I get to have some input on who is the first to become soylent green! :)

The radical environmentalists ruin it for the sane people.... think environmentalist and you picture EARTH FIRST, or, ELF, or PETA.... you know a lot of us dont have the slightest urge to blow up laboratories, or spike trees... most of us love humanity and think it is the best thing in the world.... some of us just argue that humanity should allow itself a great world.... we should work to prevent it from becoming hostile world...
That is all I advocate...."control our environment before we are controlled by it!"

As far as I am concerned politics does NOT enter into the problem.....You either accept the facts, or deal with the concequences...left or right we all live here.....
