Tom,

I was a member of the National Wildlife Society for decades starting in preeteen years. I never read the kind of nonsense you attribute to environmentalists. Nor have I heard it from the fliers and mailings I routinely get from environmental groups. The fact is most loudmouths are extremists just like with the Republicans and Democrats. The do not represent majority opinion any more than the political extremists in on TV represent the opinions of the majority of Americans.

I worked at the SRP plutonium refining site for 2 summers. Nuclear power is not the bugaboo many seem to think nor is it as safe as the nuclear power inductry would like you to believe. Nuclear waste is a serious long term issue. I'm quite willing to consider it for space travel, and even Earthly power in some cases, but I would not like to see it be the major source of power.

Regards,
Mark
