Atoms travel in a path as time goes by. Could it be that there is only the now? If that is true, at the very best, we could recreate the past by moving today’s atoms to the coordinates they were in the past (If we had the right data and technology, of course), but time travel would be out.
To go to the past, you would have to movie today’s atoms to the coordinates they were located at some point in the past. To do this, you would have to destroy the present. You would also be recreating the past, verses going back there. So even though you put every atom where they were in the past so that it was 100% identical to that moment in time, you still wouldn’t be in the past. The universe around you is still in motion.
