Not that I would quibble over the numbers...but when I searched for other references to Meeus asking Vitagliano to check his figure and Vitagliano coming up with 50,000 + years...I could find non.

This easily could be the press being interested in big numbers and not interested in corrections of big numbers...but gees you'd think...
