Mars Society President? How about Gene Cernan or Harrison Schmidt? They would have my vote. Plus either of them would carry more weight.

Appreciate any citing of my article in Spectroscopy for the correct year Mars was closer to the Earth. There are no other earlier published accounts of the correct year.
