I do not want this war to take on crusader overtones.
I do not want this war to be a many-years-long-affair.
I want this war to leave the Afghans truly in charge of their destiny, not in the hands of some thugocracy disguising as pious.
I think if we allow the extremists currently dominating Israeli politics to use this as an excuse to launch some 'final solution' against Palesitinians who disagree with them the world will be less secure at the end of that process, not more.
Frankly I do not see much different from that coming out of President Bush's policy at this time.
We must wage effective wart against those responsible for starting this war.
But the scope of this war, like all successful wars, must be carefully controlled.
