Another Okinawa, and this is not necessarily a bad thing. The U.S. Military posted in a community offers additional revenue, with no requirement for the community to support the base whatsoever. There are many posts around the globe that are completely self-supporting, from waste removal to water supply to recreational facilities. And when the troops step out to the local cafes, shops and leisure establishments, they'll be spending money.
