Hi Everyone,
Sometimes my pieces go a bit over the top and it is very hard for people to discern what is said tongue-in-cheek or literally. My earlier post was intentionally meant to antagonize a particular poster on this board (they know who they are;-) (No.. not Mary Anne!)
It was not accurately meant to portray my views re: Afghanistan or the Afghan people (or for that matter all the other folks, races, etc. which were subtly, or not so subtly crucified between the lines)
I have great compassion for the Afghan people and their plight and am not the bigoted Archie Bunker that post was meant to assume ;-)
I also did not mean to offend Mary Anne, E', or any other folks who may have felt lambasted. I was actually trying to have a bit of fun but it seems to have backfired.
Raoul, and many of the folks here, who have seen me post, and are very attentive know my beliefs and philosophy.
I have probably been every born in every race and every creed on this earth.
Consciousness is the key! Each person has an infinite capacity to grow and learn. Each is unique and is different from their neighbor, regardless of race, creed or political disposition.
Bigotry is ignorance manifest. It is judging a book by its cover, or age, or country of origin. Stereotypes are tools used to further agendas or negative discrimination.
While the quotes I used were the real Mccoy - they were particularly chosen and designed to antagonize and portray an 'elitist' view ;-)
(The Afghans of 1931 were particularly fond of shooting at British Caravans incidentally;-)
Obviously I succeeded - much to my dismay.
I will be more careful next time or put my usual disclaimer at the bottom...if one scrolls way down.
Best wishes and Happy Halloween!

Apologies and kudos...
