Random action versus action/reaction

To say that those who died in the WTC and pentagon, had brought upon their death by previous incarnations is preposterous as well as disrespectful. The actions of the terrorists were brought about by the terrorists. Period. This to me is as preposterous as saying that babies are born guilty because of the original sin (Adam and Eve), and will go to hell if they die before being baptized.

Those Firefighters, policemen, and paramedics who died in the line of duty, were not their because of some previous incarnate desire to burn buildings and kill people. They were there because they chose an ever thankless profession of putting their lives at risk that others may be saved. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

I realize it is your right to peddle your philosophy where you see fit, but please remember how insulting it can read when applied to real life.

Hi Steve,

No disrespect is involved at all. I specified that there could be countless pat circumstances which put them in that position to balance past actions - I do not think all those 6000 folks were all past terrorists, etc.

Unfortunately, Science doesn't give any reasonable alternative.

Tom's view above, that 'shit happens' fails to look closely at events - shit doesn't just happen - it happens for a reason - first you eat then you poop ;-) If you don't eat...you don't poop.

First off, one must remember that past actions seem right at the time they take place. The dark ages was not 'dark' to the folks who lived in them - they thought they were modern.

What to us appears primitive or eil thinking and behavior - at some point in our evolution we may have considered contemporary and good.

Many folks take issue with this because it seems to undermine self-determination. That we would be destined by surrounding environment and past events. This would be true in a finite universe...but it is not true in an infinite universe.

In an infinite universe there is an endless supply of experiences and data to offset even the most devolving wavetrain.

There will always be a greater good and a greater evil. No zenith of good or evil can ever be attained as these actions, beings, etc. will be presented with relativistic evaluations.

If we believe that deities control our fate - then such random violence would be unbelievably cruel - and we would be subjected to the whims of an unbelievably sadistic deity who kills innocents without hesitation.

Life is neither ruled by deities or random action. The word random does not exist in my personal dictionary - 'there aint no such creature'.

All is action and reaction. Countless wave forms oscillating and influencing each other.

Laying downs one life for another is indeed a selfless act. It is not denegrated by having been preceded by lifetimes lived less selflessly - but is, if anything, a triute to progressive evolution and the triump of man over his past.

For, in my view, these folks are not truly dead - but will return some in ten, twenty, fifty or a hundred years. They will be folks just like you and me, and have no immediate recollection of this event other than perhaps vague undefined phobias.

How many of us have perished falling from great heights, being crushed, or burned to death?

Probably quite a lot. How many of us have fought and killed in wars, by the sword, pistols, spear or arrow?

This world is a big learning ground - the beings on it are evolving slowly out of the past. The terrorists are terrorists because they have not evolved as much as the firefighter.

If we turn all events into random happenings - we will never be able to understand, fully the world around us.

The big bang theory does much the same - it take a series of scientific cause and effect observations and where these leave off and are are actually no longer clearly observable - it ascribes 'randomness' of appearing particles or primordial matter.

That is unacceptable to my scientific viewpoint.

I am not peddling my views. Religions do that because adherents are necessary. My views are mine alone and can't be passed or peddled - only certain components may find compatible wavetrain in various individuals where they can resonate.

I am sorry if my views offend you, or anyone else. To me they seem very rational, logical and scientific.

They will never be popular because we are all always blind to our own negative nature - others can see it - but we cannot.

Different perspectives give different views. To hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of folks in the middle east, Osama Bin Laden is a great hero.

To the west he appears to be an ignorant psychopath.

Which is the truth?

Again, his evil is shielded to eyes which cannot perceive it or understand it.

If he is born and murdered or killed in future lives - people around him may be mystified as to the cause...but not all.

Some folks who can see the trail prior to the 'babys first wailing cry' will know these events and apparently 'unfair' or 'unjustified' happenings had definite origins and past sponsors.

Best wishes,
