There has been minimal outcry by US muslims over 911. Aside from the touchy feely Oprah style coverage intended to prevent rednecks from assaulting anyone vaguely middle eastern in appearance, most every time Muslim folks have been interviewed on news programs they have dodged direct answers to the questions regarding 911. Why are we making excuses for the relative silence? Why is it so hard to visibly and forcefully denounce those who pervert the religion and act in this horrific manner?

Every time the Christian Right so much as steps out of line in a non-PC statement, TV coverage and editorials abound. We need to put pressure on the Muslim community to avoid the passive bystander behaviour that we and the media have allowed out of fear of being labeled racists, intolerant or whatever.
