I think that anyone should be forgiven for showing less than confidence in a plan to invade Afganistan. The historical precedent was obvious.

The same can be said about winning a war in Serbia using only air power. There were a number of conservatives predicting otherwise, in that conflict.

I was skeptical in both cases, and ultimately pleasantly surprised.

Now we just need someone to invade Russia in winter, and survive the contest.
