Anthrax on the brain.......

Whose brain? Certainly not mine.

>"You can follow the money all you want and hope and hope and hope that every company in the world is corrupt enough to make your theory stick, but when you come across the exception to your rule, why must you insist the company is corrupt regardless of the evidence -- or the lack thereof?"

Well, one of those 10 companies has an employee that has caused a biological threat big enough to cause disaster, and the government labs should KNOW where some turned up missing and who was responsible. Like our nuclear secrets and the Wen Ho Lee case, nobody's really minding the store.
In the case of the hoof and mouth outbreak in England, a vial of it had been STOLEN from a main lab there three weeks before hoof and mouth appeared in the countryside. I wonder if they ever caught the thief there either, as anthrax was stored there along with the vial he took. Lucky he only picked that one, right?

Someone inside the CIA, or one of their operatives managed to do this as a "prank"...a deadly prank perhaps. And I hope it has rung alarm bells in the security of these labs, but like all places, all people, they are trusting deadly germ warfare to average security and clearance type people which are minimal at best.
And let's not say that this company or that company wouldn't DO anything to increase profit. Look at the tobacco companies and the great lengths THEY went to to ensure their corrupt garbage didn't get out. Money, money, money.
Please Dan.......consider a few more options.
And let's hope they catch the thief and perhaps destroy what we already have.
Frankly, like our nuclear technology, our bio-warfare technology will come back to bite us in the ass one day.....Pandoras' Box has been opened.....our lack of foresight into our future will be the problem we face in the coming years. Ans I guess we deserve it.
