>"Horowitz ...... obviously found a way to make a lot of money by sensationalizing the anthrax threat...... to help with his book sales.
Well, it's his BIAS that discerns his vigilance. Sometimes you have to repeat yourself waay too many times to be noticed, believed or even paid attention to (just ask any parent..).
If we accuse him of this when we must accuse Pepsi of giving us Brittany Spears.....
>"And guess what. Companies are run by -- people."
Yes, and we're playing with fire and the fireman aren't getting paid enough, or they're just a little wacked.
>"My mind is changeable with supported facts, as opposed to unsupported rumors."
Just opening up the possibilities, Dan.
>"We do not deserve death by anthrax. Nobody does. What we do deserve is the knowledge that is gained in preparing for the worst, and the security in knowing we've done our best -- so far."
Of course, we don't "deserve" anthrax, or a nuclear attack or even to be invaded by the Chinese.
BUT! All I was pointing out is that we have developed so many weapons of death and destruction, that their proliferation threatens us all. We didn't deserve the WTC bombings either, but who thought America could be brought to it's knees by a few radical pilots with a few loaded planes full of jet fuel? We cannot SEE all the possibilities, and are weakest and vulnerable where we least expect it. Perhaps we ought not to be so pushy?
There is a fine line where "defense" and "offense" eventually morph together into the serpent eating it's own tail.
>"Meanwhile, you go right on believing what you will."
I CONSIDER POSSIBILITIES and look at all the evidence. What you see is my BIAS.
For example, it's like a leaking roof. You can see where it drips, and you might patch it up, but without a complete overhaul (a new roof), you eventually will get wetter and wetter until you're completely soaked. By then, it's too late.
CIAO to you too.
