Trying to convince Publius that the media and academia have a decisive tilt toward the left may be like trying to convince james that the Moon is not covered with busted greenhouses. The fact of this leftward bias has been backed up not only by the experience of many people, but by a number of surveys (Only 4 percent of the media identify themselves as Republicans, and only 3 percent of Ivy League professors surveyed admitted to being even a "weak" Republican.)
The book, "Bias," mentioned here before, (Number One this week on the New York Times best seller list, and still holding at number 11 at Amazon) is a case-by-case illustration of the media bias.
Pretending uncomfortable facts don't exist is a common defense with both leftists and UFO believers.
