that name-calling and inflamed rhetoric tends to backfire. For example, here's an editorial from the self-proclaimed "People's Republic of Boulder" Colorado "Daily Camera" about how an abortion advocate used inflammatory rhetoric against our Governor for actually enforcing state law.
Maybe some people are waking up to the fact that calling others Nazis, Klansmen, or now Taliban for holding differing viewpoints from liberal orthodoxy is not only offensive, it's just plain stupid. One bad aspect of the Internet is that it allows cowards to say things like that without having to face the prospect of getting punched in the nose.
