<I envy your dogmatic assurance and wish it were that easy to be a liberal. As a liberal positions have to examined on their merit, positions examined...BEFORE one takes a position.
Holy smoking cow...you can actually SAY that with a straight face? Are you even aware that you are still spouting the "conservative=idiot" mantra despite the total lack of evidence for it?
I've been studying politics since I was in college, and believe me, I have examined my positions. As for liberals, they typically hold their positions in the face of overwhelming evidence in opposition. Despite the hell on Earth created by Marxism over the past century, you can still find hundreds of avowed Marxists on college campuses. Have these people "examined their positions?"
If you would care to pull up any single specific issue--guns, deregulation, socialized medicine, public education, etc. I will be happy to point out where they are wrong. The liberal history is one of failure after failure to solve public problems. Then again, solving the problems was never the goal.
The political leftist has only one interest: to gain and keep political power. Every position taken by Democrats in Washington has this single end in mind, regardless of the advertised purpose of the position.
Make a list. Name the positions taken by a Democratic politician that would REDUCE the power of the central government. Now make a list of the positions taken that would INCREASE the power of the central government. Get the point?
