Both the US and the UK currently buy millions in oil from Iraq every year under the UN oil-for-food program. We could buy billions from Saddam under this program if we wanted to.

Here's some background. Note that Iraq will receive approx $3 billion from oil sales during the current half-year phase of the UN program, and nearly 3/4 of it is earmarked for humanitarian relief, medecine, and food.

It's important to point this out for two reasons, to end two myths.
1) The USA has absolutely no need to overthrow Saddam to has access to Iraqi oil. In fact, the military campaign will disrupt our current access, in the short term.
2) Claims that the US/UK led sanctions on Iraq are killing Iraqi children are sheer, utter nonsense.
