Major distinctions

The Jewish terrorists operating in the 1940's mainly attacked military, not civilian targets.

They were condemned by other major Jewish organizations (the very article you provided states this, too).

The Zionists established a free, democratic, and mostly secular state (at least compared to the rest of the neighborhood). We're still waiting for the first Arab democracy with basic individual freedoms and rights...

The Zionists offered to share the land with the Palistinians (after all, it's the ancestral homeland of both). The Palestinians, and the rest of the Arabs, refused to grant the Jews even a tiny slice of the Middle-east for their homeland, and attacked Israel, again and again and again, without stopping, for 20 years until the Israelis conquered the West Bank and Gaza (and Sinai) in a war to stop the unrelenting Arab aggression from threatening the existence of Israel.

The Israeli military occupation of the territorities is completely justified on security grounds, as justified as the current American military presence in Afghanistan. What is wrong, and this is the only point we would agree on, is the colonization of the territories by Jewish settlers who are religious extremists.

For you to claim that Israel was created by terrorism is simply absurd, and historically inaccurate. Mind you, Great Britian issued the Balfour Declaration supporting the creation of Jewish homeland in 1917, decades before the Jewish terrorists of the 1940's existed. And the leading Zionists of the 19th and 20th centuries sought the approval of world powers and international organizations for the new state of Israel. It was a movement to allow long persecuted Jews to seek sanctuary and self-determination by returning to their homeland, not to steal land from Arabs.

One of the most unspoken questions of all is why should the Arab peoples own 100% of the Middle-east anyway?
