These sorts of things are a tragedy. But I think they clearly were negligent in observing the danger signs - his mother too should have been a bit more assertive in seeking help for her son.

However, I think the analogy between Palestinian suicides is not quite right...

The Palestinian culture promotes and rewards suicidal terrorist martyrs...France does not. (It coddles them, with weak laws - but does not encourage them.)

Mothers encourage their sons to be suicidal maniacs, when they put up big posters of previous suicidal types and wail in honor of these folks like they are great heroes. Palestinian kids as young as four say they want to grow up and be like (insert name of previous suicidal, obsessed and brain-dead Palestinian here - often their older siblings)

I assure you in the US - this guy
wouldn't have been given a chance to jump out of any windows after he was caught.

But the world is a strange and unsettling place in the dawn of the 21st century.
