You have made a very good point and have broached the problem as it actually exists.
Not only is suicide bombing highly effective, but Terrorism itself is effective.
Now we have to examine why it is effective? Gerry Adams said one bomb in London is worth fifty in Belfast.
The media has a heavy hand in all this. Headlines sell papers and attract advertisers. Exploding bombs make spectacular headlines and allow tv anchors to sound important.
Terrorism is a media event.
