except for some smaller matters, I couldn't agree with you more, and couldn't have stated the situation as well.
I would equate Israel's treatment of Palestinians as terror equivalent to the Palestinians terrorism, and that's just a matter of weight. I don't think the Palestinians want violence any more than the Israelis, I don't think an army of occupation will always be just. I don't blame the Israelis for controlling the Palestinians, don't know how the Palestinians "should" protest occupational abuses. I think Sharon "picked" the fight TO get elected.
Neither side is right. And neither side is wrong. As you said, when that happens it's a mess.
And as I've stated before, if this board were pro-Palestinian I would have had to take the Israeli side, and would have made the same points you have.
And, now it can be seen as a problem, with a chance of resolution, rather than be painted into either corner, with no options but the complete subjugation of the bad guys, whichever they are.
I wouldn't have thought it possible. I'm kinda proud of us both, on this matter, at this time, that we got as close as we did.
Arf! Not just a woofin'.
