The bus boycott in the South worked because it had a profound economic impact.
However, I'm afraid the Israelis can control the information coming out of Palestine. What I've seen so far is either from Israeli sources, and accepted by the US media as gospel, or from Palestinian sources, and discounted heavily if not completely.
For instance, there was a report of 71 night-time helicopter rocket attacks upon a civilian neighborhood. Can anyone claim there is an effort to avoid "collateral" damage, or might it be an attempt to induce terror in that civilian population?
And yet no one I've heard objects to that.
Someone on this board posted a picture of 5 Palestinian males in a room who were dead. Without saying they had been executed, if they had it would look like that picture. Someone said that if they hadn't been executed, they should have, "capped" was the term.
Civil disobedience isn't going to work against an attitude like that, where no one cares.
Life is lived forward, true, but it's understood backward. I just don't believe I'd trust any cause in which I believed to Sharon's tender mercies.
And, maybe I'll research civil disobedience. Interesting to wonder where it is appropriate.
