I've pointed out in the past, along with many others, how the left and right are treated differently by the media. A prime difference is that statements that support the leftist agenda are taken more seriously than statements that oppose it, regardless of the level of actual evidence or proof.
In environmental issues, the anti-tech claims of radical environmentalists are treated as gospel, requiring massive evidence to disprove it, while claims from industry and opposing environmental scientists are immediately treated with skepticism, requiring massive evidence to back it up.
In the Israel-Palestine conflict, this means that claims by Palestinians are immediately assumed to be factual, while Israeli claims are immediately treated with suspicion. This despite the fact that the Arab world and the Palestinian organization have a long record of "creativity" when it comes to facts. And yes, this conflict is a left-right issue. The Palestinians are near the top of the list of holy causes of the progressive movement.
Here is a good example of how little background is required to spread Palestinian claims as truth.
...Reeves, pastor of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in State College, Pa., says Stephanopoulos' e-mails from the West Bank aren't always 100-percent accurate, but her "motives are pure."
And I guess that excuses everything, doesn't it?
