Tom,
The Anti-Defamation League can quit and go home. They have you. The Israelis are like Clinton - they smear anyone critical of them, fast and hard.
I've seen it differently. I've noticed the network broadcasters give the same amount of time to a suicide bomber who killed 6 people (7, but they didn't count her) as they did to the invasion of Jenin, with God knows how many killed.
The demolition of a bus, 6 civilians dead by a suicide bomber, was equated with the invasions of many, many towns and destruction and looting of civilian homes by an army under orders.
The nun quoted may have exaggerated. Do you think she made it all up?
And Israel has exaggerated the threat to their country for a long, long time. My God, they "enjoyed" a 25 to 1 kill ratio, and claimed they were threatened.
They continued building settlements on Palestinian territory, and complained about the Palestinians hating them. And when the networks reported on the UN trying to get Israel to live up to their signed agreements, Israel screamed "Anti-Semitism!!"
As a result I've watched the media in the US forever extolling Israel, with very little mention of the Palestinians. Americans understand the Israeli issues, don't understand the Palestinians. I sure didn't, until it didn't make sense, and I looked into it.
I'm not going to change your mind on anything, I know. And some of the others of us wonder what those soldiers were doing in there for two weeks? The stated purpose was to try to destroy the Palestinian will to resist the settlements, the taking of their territory. That is called "terrorism".
We watched the 12 y/o kid get shot. We have not seen the Israeli Army held accountable for any individual acts. And they have been there for 2 weeks. How many of them were selling Boy Scout cookies?
