Well.
Most of the folks I know can respect a person who makes a mistake and recognizes it.
"They're used to it, give 'em some goodies, they'll forget it."
I just don't think you meant that literally. I do know you said that.
God knows I've had to suck it up and admit the writing was done by adrenaline, or my hip, slick and cool side, or out of stupidity, carelessness or lack of thought.
What makes you better than me? (You may be, and I'd wonder what it is that does it.)
