Germany has no Bill of Rights. We do.
I prefer it our way. Although it sometimes seems like we are putting ourselves at a disadvantage compared to more authoritarian systems, in truth our committment to individual rights is one of our greatest strengths.
If not being a totalitarian Big Brother state means losing a building and some people to random acts of violence now and then, well, I would have to say so be it. We'll get the bastards who did it eventually. And it should be remembered that a hell of a lot of other people have lost their lives over the years in many different ways to protect our freedoms.
