I hadn't thought of the Serengeti being owned by individuals, or the elephants. Or a corporation.
My first impulse is to think that if it didn't turn a profit for a year, say something happened to tourism, they'd liquidate the animals, lease the land to ADM.
I somehow can't get past the idea that the world would be like one big Monopoly game, which is free enterprise operating at about the maximum level. There is always luck.
And, there is always a winner. Someone winds up owning it all, and the other people have squat. Not squatters rights, squat.
On things which require a massive investment, such as power generating plants and distribution system, there would be one monopoly. Theoretically there could be more, but realistically there would be monopolies. That would be expensive.
If, however, someone built another one, if they duplicated the power generation and distribution, that would be expensive. Can you imagine two, or three, sewer and water systems?
But, I'll try to wrap my mind around the idea of everything, every tree, deer, length of road, owned by someone, and not having everything in short order owned by hardly anyone.
