I didn't realize the subsidies had the effect of allowing US companies to "dump" their products on foreign countries.

Don't we protest "dumping", that is a country selling a subsidized product in the US to the detriment of unsubsidized US producers?

In Mexico City a few years ago I bought a bunch of apples in a supermarket. They were from Washington State, were selling for a bit less than they would have in the US.

Surprised me.
