Mexican corn.

"Mexican corn growers sometimes have trouble competing with imported American corn when they are selling it just to the Mexicans in the town down the road. Although some of this is indeed due to subsidies, a lot is also just productivity, or the fact that the American farmer can just produce one hell of a lot more for less money."

There may be standards which more commercial corn has to meet, but I've seen a lot of Mexican corn growing which couldn't be grown cheaper. Impossible to grow or harvest cheaper. They have great weather for growing, cheap labor, lotsa land.

The post harvest processing and transportation might be easier for American corn. The quality of the corn might be better, maybe the appearance.

And I'm not saying the Mexicans are efficient. But cheap.

And US corn probably is subsidized. After all, subsidies seem to be determined by Senate seats, not need. Look at tobacco. If there was anything which should not be subsidized, or purchased by the government after harvest, it's tobacco. And it's done.
