Re: Poor nations protest farm subsidies.
Farm subsidies are a nightmare and have been for decades. It did look like we were actually getting them under control under Clinton but it seems Bush has no interest in balanced budgets here, only poltical pandering. Maintaining a strong local farming industry is a national security issue, but current farm subsidies are so mindbogglingly idiotic I cannot fathom why Bush, with all his current political capital, does not take a stand on what is so obviously the right thing to do.
