<T. B. - "What kind of citizenship and rights are Jews given in Arab nations? Second-class? Maybe none?"
I read that as an attempt to excuse Israel's religious discrimination against its own citizenship.
Israel was created out of a land where there were Palestinians living. Had been for a long time. The UN resolution guaranteed the Palestinians full citizenship in the new nation. Made sense, after all, they had been living there longer than most Jews.
Nice try, but there have been Jews living in the Middle East for thousands of years, too. All over the Middle East, including the many places that are now Arab nations. How are they doing today? Are Jews guaranteed full citizenship in Jordan? In Syria? In Lebanon? (All nations created about the same time as Israel). How about Saudi Arabia? Iraq? Iran?
Oh, and thanks for the repeats of the same quotes, including that same review of Benny Morris's book. Hey, I repeat my best material quite a bit, too. In reply, I will again repeat a more recent piece by Benny Morris.
At some point it may be useful to number our arguments to save time and valuable disk space:
Bowser: "#4, and #43, and if you don't believe that, #54!"
Brosz: "Bowser, you ignorant slut! #34, 36, and most of all, #99."
