<This is a total joke. The investigation ended because there was nothing there. It is preposterous to think Clinton would take a bribe. The man has income potential in the millions.
I said the article presented insufficient evidence, but it did sound plausible. Bush's hands-off-Clinton policy was in place long before any investigation had established whether there was anything prosecutable or not.
I think you would find you are in the minority in thinking Clinton would not take a bribe, whether he actually did or not. I would put very little past him. Remember, we are not talking about now, when he is raking in the big bucks* We are talking about when he was in office and trading political favors and pardons for campaign contributions. On the other hand, if that is classified as a "bribe," there would be damn few politicians in Washington that would not be guilty.
The never-ending right wing smear campaign against Clinton has no precedence in American political history.
Clarence Thomas. Newt Gingrich. Ronald Reagan and Iran-Contra. Among others. But hey, since Republicans are by nature evil, nothing you do to them counts as "smearing."
* Hey, it's a free country, and capitalist to boot. I don't begrudge him whatever he can grab. At least it's not taxpayer money for a change, and there are people who pull down a lot more money for doing dumber things.
