I think you give far too much credit tot he Palestinians as strategists, in any vein. Or I should say, the article you posted does.

Missing are two key issues, and I see them as the driving force behind Palestinian tactics.

Fisrt is their fanatical belief in a primative God that rewards such acts with an eternity of abundant pussy. As ridiculous as this may seem to some of us, these people cling to that aspect of the afterlife with unreasoning reverence.

The propaganda that glorifies their maniacal sacrifices adds credence to their spiritual delusions.

Second is the catalyst which reinforces their faith; support from the rest of the arab world. The Saudis, Iran, Iraq and Lebanon are knowv contributors to the suicide bombings. The bomber's families are paid $30k and guanateed a lofty ststus in Islamic society for the glorious death of their family member.

In effect, the Palestinians are the weapon that the bulk of the arab world are exploiting in their hatred for Israel. As such, I'm sure most of us share the view that the Palestinians are hapless dupes to the dark designs of their arab brethren.

Hey, such a sweet deal! For a mere 30 grand they can send a human bomb into the sanctuary of their dread enemy! No skin off their asses, right? And it's a fiscally prudent way to torment the enemy as well....the cost of one scud missle is several times that much.

There is also the added advantage for the arabs of remaining in the background, and in a position to further their plans to destroy the Israeli state with a continuing chummy relationship with The Great Satan.

Much can be accomplished diplomatically, with the likes of Powell singing the praises of Allah....
