Wealth in our society is a direct result of free enterprise, which still provides opportunity in spite of the shackles we would place on it.
And I don't advocate redistribution of wealth Tom, nor am I envious of the successful. I do, however, bristle at the fact that the upper crust dig deep into the corporate treasury to furnish expense accounts, company cars, country club memberships, and a long list of perks, to themselves while the grunts get paid damned little.
If you aren't aware of the double standard in the workplace, you are either unconscious or self-employed.
Me? I could give a damn for my own sake. I brush against the good, bad and ugly just like everyone else, and I take the position that life is what I make it, and I'll be damned if I'll allow some other bozo to dictate who and what I am.
On the other hand, I am an observer of the human condition. Freedom is my utmost priority, and all of it has to be taken with a healthy does of humor.
