And your post is what? A ringing endorsement of America? You may not hate the United States, but it sounds to me like you've got some issues, Raoul.
When I say isolationism I am not suggesting the suspension of free trade, but rather the withdrawl of American Armed Forces from around the world and a hell of alot less American meddling in foreign affairs.
As for our support of Israel; That is in part a result of the predominant Christian ethic here, I assume, as we identify the Jews as God's first client nation and stewards of the gospel, the authors of our Bible, the race of the humanity of Jesus Christ, and the people whom He will return to save at the Second Advent.
America also loves the underdog, and in this case the tiny nation Israel is girded on three sides by hostile nations who not only hate the Jews, but anyone who is their ally.
Finally, regardless what the editorials may say to the contrary, the Israelis do not persecute the so called "Palestinians" for the sheer pleasure of it, they are protecting themselves from an ongoing terrorist threat that has been going on for 70 years. The Jews have demonstrated restraint and a willingness to explore a peaceful solution, but the Arabs answer with more violence.
Sure, the Jews hit hard when they retaliate. I respect them for that; they're tough and they mean what they say. If a terrorist will ever respect anyone it will be the enemy that is as brutal and unrelenting as they.
