<I'm glad more people are awakening to that realization. It's one of the main reasons I voted for Gore vs Bush the Big Oil boy.

Just out of curiosity, where was Al Gore going to get the energy we needed? Somehow I don't visualize a large nuclear power program out of his administration. I'm sure he has the same fantasies about clean, renewable, cheap energy that all environmentalists have, solar and wind boondoggles that would be fueled by trillions of dollars of tax money sucked from industries that actually make more money than they spend.* Wrecking the economy would certainly reduce our oil consumption, but I'm not sure a caribou or two is worth that.

*Has anyone ever accepted my challenge to find a major mass transit system that actually MAKES money? Heck, I'll save you the trouble. I have found only one so far, and it's in Hong Kong.
