Marxism

<But you fail to make a difference between Marxism - the economic concept that will never work - and "Stalinism" - the excuse of an economic system in a totalitarian govt to kill off significant percentages of it's population.
No amount of blather on either of our parts will convince either of us we are wrong. :-)

I beat this horse into a fine powder with Bowser, and it still didn't soak in then either. Whether Marxism is an "economic system" or a "political system" a "way of life" or a "quirklefleeg" is totally irrelevant. It is physically impossible to impose such a system of economic controls on a nation without instituting the totalitarianism that Stalin was famous for. Every last nation that has adopted Marxism has wound up a totalitarian hellhole, where large portions of the population are killed off by neglect and deliberate government policy. There are no exceptions to this*. The idea that the Marxist nations that have annihilated about 80 million people this century are "not real Marxism" is an idiotic fantasy that most people outgrow in college, unless they stay on to become professors.

And yes, there is a double standard between communism and Naziism, though anyone I know who espouses support for totalitarianism of any kind is still laughed out of town.

Still waiting for the professors to be laughed out of town for espousing ownership of all property by the State.

BTW, did you notice that Chomsky was also reviled by many for his support of a holocaust revisionist's right to free speech? But that wouldn't fit in your world view , huh?

Not sure what this proves, except to show Chomsky's support of yet another jackass viewpoint. Unless you somehow imagined that I would be sympathetic to holocaust revisionists. But then, I guess since I'm conservative, I'm supposed to be, right?

*And no, kibbutzes don't count as Marxist nations.
