Interesting point.

"There are many conflicts going on in the World, where dictators oppress their people, and yet, we can't do much about it."

The question the international community must address is, if and when we're supposed to take collective action to do something about it. Saddam's invasion and annexation of Kuwait in 1990, Milosevic's decade long rampage through the Balkans, the starvation and violence of Somalia in the early 1990's, and the Al Queda/Taliban terrorist attacks of Sep. 11, 2001 were all deemed serious enough to warrant UN sanctioned military intervention in sovereign states (Recall that the UN Security Council approved of American led miitary action in Afghanistan, but not specifically elsewhere). Somehow, the specter of Saddam Hussein acquiring all sorts of weapons of mass destruction including nuclear bombs, despite all this murderous man has done to his people and his neighbors during his three decade reign of terror, despite all he has done to thwart UN weapons inspectors over the past decade, isn't "serious" enough to warrant a decision by the UN to force Saddam to comply, or to be forcibly removed from office.
