I saw Rumsfeld tell the Senate today that Iraq needed to be attacked because 3,000 people died in NY. There is NO evidence Iraq had anything to do with that. NONE. However, he has had WMD, though none, NONE, were used in WTC. (Rumsfeld was stretching to the point of lying, there.)

IF THE GOAL IS AS STATED, TO DISARM SADDAM, there are ways to go about that fairly easily. There are advantages to working with ROW, no matter how big one is one needs friends. Inspections and destruction would do that. Period. Without slaughtering thousands and thousands of people.

Lotsa inspections, rapid inspections, brooking no BS. If there is too much resistance about a site, it will be demolished by air no sooner than 6 and no later than 12 hours away. "Attention -- This site is surrounded now, and only people will be allowed to leave before the demolishion begins. You have only 6 guaranteed hours to leave."

That would work.

THE ONLY GOAL WHICH NEEDS UNILATERAL INVASION IS IF YOU WANT TO LOOT THE COUNTRY. Y'see, even if you invaded you'd have to inspect and disarm. But you could do that without invading, so it's not inspection and disarming which is the issue. Guess what the only justification for an invasion? There is one reason, and it ain't disarmament, as we've seen.

Iraq cannot be logically figured as a target for unprovoked aggression on the basis given so far. It doesn't make sense. Because Americans will die in the process.

Fact: Using WMD is immoral, and Iraq used them. Fact: The Reagans and Bushies wrote the battle plans utilizing WMD. Morality issues cancel exactly - neither is moral, both are immoral, and not seeing that takes an amoral person.

Fact: The US used WMD in Vietnam and WWII. The US has engaged in terrorism in the last 10 years on a scale unimagined by Iraq.

Nope, DISARMAMENT can be handled without an invasion. LOOTING is the only matter which takes troops on the ground, and Daddy's grudge.
