I Can Say I Tried to Stop a Great Wrong

This time the demonstration will be even bigger than ever and I would not miss it for the world. I want to be able to say to myself that I have tried my best to stop a great wrong. That is why I have seen my local MP, why I talk about it with friends and family and why I am going to make my way down to London on the train, one Saturday morning in September.

Student Ben White (19), of Darley Abbey, has not been convinced by the Government's dossier. And he will join thousands of people in London on Saturday to take part in the Don't Attack Iraq demonstration. Here, Ben explains why he feels the need to join the anti-war march.

Why can I be bothered to go down to London to march alongside communists, hippies and Muslims, vicars, nuns and single mums? Because despite our differences, we share a common cause.

We will be marching because we believe that the British Government is wrong to join George Bush in a war against Iraq where innocent people will be the ones who suffer.

From the Embankment to Hyde Park, tens of thousands are going to make their voice heard and I will be one of them. I cannot simply sit and do nothing when I know what is being done by my country.
