Lucas "modified" Star Wars so that Han Solo gets shot at first before shooting Greedo in the cantina. Greedo misses from across the table. This is, of course, stupid, but I suppose it made somebody feel better, and does continue a long White Hat tradition dating back to the Lone Ranger and beyond.

Of course, in real life, Solo would have a hole in his skull you could toss a cat through, but why quibble.

Again, it's hilarious to watch all the fuss on "pre-emption" in Iraq from a bunch of people who would love to make owning a gun a criminal offense--you know, arrests, fines, imprisonment--in case the gunowner might someday shoot somebody.
